Blake Does It Again!

Here at the set of Gossip Girl, Blake Lively is photo-ed with real life boyfriend Penn Badgley. And the verdict is out! Someone in wardrobe seriously hates Blake Lively.

Blake looks so wrong in this picture, there’s only 1 thing to say: Don’t Copy That Look! Unless of course, you have no friends and is desperately seeking attention from passer-bys.

Penn, on the other hand, is looking pretty casual. Slapping on a simple T with a nice pair of berms. Perfect during the summer seasons or traveling to any countries near the equator.

Recently endorsed as the new spokesperson for Mango, Scarlett Johansson has stepped into another platform level. Known for her adventurous spirit in pulling off hair coloring, this round it ain't a surprise. LA Shorts Fest's opening, our pretty dudette took away her Brunette crown and changed into a Strawberry Blonde or rather, Ginger.


Tip: Better hair coloring should be one that matches off well with your skin tone. Example, if you are tanned, Brown-theme hair color will make your outlook softer. Adversely, striking tone such as Red, will make your outlook bold and loud.

Let's start the ball rolling with..

Episode 1 - The skin is in.
Leather is the next thing now. In fact, the trend is warming up. Leather leggings can be noticed. Not many, but there are. Spot them in South-East Asian fashion cities such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and etc. The leather wave is hopping back on the fashion rollercoaster with big wave, we reckon. This round, rocking the Westside too. No more opaque-ness, transclucency. Neither here, nor there. Storm the streets, and dare the fashionistas/trend-setters. Start being one of them.

There are loads of Denim out there in the fashion world. Whatever cuts, you name it, they have it. Sport off the current "IN" ankle-length jeans with attitude and confidence. Blake Lively and Cameron Diaz both heightened the appeal for their slim, ankle-cropped jeans with great stilettos.


Going for smart casual outing or want to dress appropriately as it is TGIF (Thank God is Friday)? Polish this style with slim-fit/tailored jacket that is, similar to Blake's. Otherwise, pull it off with a pretty blouse like what Cameron Diaz did, and attain a dressier or feminine image.

Don't skip your lids.
Besides concealing the bottom contours of your eyes due to puffiness and dark circles, another enhancement method would be Eye Shadow. It is strongly advisable to apply Peach-toned eye shadow onto your eyelids. This is to give it a clean, clear and refreshed look. Having pink/peach eyelids also help in neutralizing the natural puffiness, blue-purple-gray "tones". Not completely, but it helps.










Add sparkle.
In general, most makeup artists will agree in avoid applying makeup onto your eyes areas if you are tired. Nonetheless, eyes are still the "doors" to one soul. It is definitely one of those important facial features that draws attention. Besides mascara, eye shadow and concealer, the alternative would be add shimmer. Add the glow by applying pinch of shimmer cream on the little inner corners of the eyes (near the nose bridge).

Golden-coloured shimmer for dark skin, and silvery/pearly-coloured shimmer for pale fair skin. At once, you will look refreshed.

Curl your lashes.
What's the best way to look wide awake even though you are feeling like a piece of dead and dried fish? Do it in a quicky manner! Curl your lashes is definitely a better approach than applying mascara. Over time, daily usage of mascara is not really healthy for lashes due to it's chemical contents. Curling is an easier, less time-consuming and cost-effective method.

Place the curler as near as possible to the base of your lashes and just with 1 or 2 curl(s), your eyes are set ready with maximised curl and length.









Lighten up.
There are many ways in diminishing your dark circles out there. Traditional methods, that are time-consuming. Contemporary ideas, that are quick yet expensive (e.g. good expensive brands of eye cream). A generic, contemporary yet lower cost method would be - Concealer. On the norm, we do use concealers for concealing dark and blemished spots.

On top of that, concealer can be used for concealing dark circles or the least, lighten them. Choose a creamy concealer that is of 1 shade lighter than your skin tone. Apply only on darker spots and not the entire dark circle contours. Take note, over-application/blend may result in ghostly outlook.

Sometimes, too much of blending/makeup does not equates to better-looking.

Get moving.
Shake your body and start getting it worked out. Be on the ball and you'll be surprised how "get your bod moving" and exercising help in leveraging your hype level aftermath. You'll feel rejuvenated and recharged. Bum away unwanted fats, the exhaustion and dread mental feel. Not necessarily got to be running, threadmills, gym and etc. Small workout such as Jumping Jack does help. Try out a set of 20 and let the blood circulation regulates.









Don't OD on foundation.
When your skin seems lifeless and of no radiance, please do away with foundation or lesser foundation. More does not equates to more radiance. Do apply liquid foundation that melts into your skin as naturale as it could be. Avoid heavy application and make it seems that your own real skin is still visible. This way, you will still look rather awake than heavy-look and drained.

Apply in your T-zone (nose and cheeks) as well as forehead and chin areas. Enhance it with loose powder (rather than compact) to make it look all natural yet, there's a glow and shimmer.

Tom Felton, or better known as Draco Malfoy in the movie Harry Potter, keeps it casual on the red carpet at the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince premiere held at NYC’s Ziegfeld Theater.

Rather than going for the usual suit and tie, Felton opted for a simpler look with just a shirt and pants with an undone bow tie to finish off the look. This keeps the look rough yet presentable.

Moisturize well:
Lack of natural sleep will not pose extreme harm to your skin condition but for sure, it will compromise it and make it harder in retaining moisture/water. Thus, leading to dehydration and one will look even more tired than before, with vivid dehydrated skin. The recommended prevention method would be moisturizing your skin with dermatologically-tested moisturizer. And of course, with SPF - Sun Protection Factor rated (products with a higher SPF number provide greater protection against ultraviolet radiation).




Subtract puffiness:
As said, old traditional method does wonders at times or rather, most times. Old tea bags on a pair of exhausted eyes, that's real traditional. It's caffeine helps in constricting blood vessels. It's tannins decrease inflammation probability. It's pressure diminishes the puff. Short of tea bags? Replace it with cucumber slices, eye gel off-the-shelf if not, a bag of frozen green peas. Feel the chill and let your eyes get refreshed.

Scrub right:
From general layman's perspective, facial repair work is inevitable and it is essential. Especially during night time though dull-looking effect but, exfoliation whisks away dead cells that leaves complexion clean, clear and toxic-free. The same applies for morning time. Good face exfoliation in the morning produces similar effect and it is an inexpensive remedy. It will enhance your complexion with clean-clear, refresh look.










Chill out:
Sounds pretty like the norm and not really that useful right? That's not really true. Do not be surprised that this method does work for most people. Sometimes, a simple remedy may create wonders too. Pamper your body with a cool shower (avoid hot bath if possible, lower temperature unleashes more cooling effect) and with the usage of refreshing body bath (e.g. body bath with 'Refresh/Fresh' term etc or mint-flavoured). Besides stimulating the blood-flow within body, this combination also helps in toning your face. Out of the bath, you will feel more refresh than ever and of course, wide awake. That is heavenly-feel.

Event Alert - Resuscitation

Local Fashion gets a New Breathe of Life through Resuscitation

Resuscitation is a 3-part exhibition by award winning local Fashion Designer Jonathan Seow.

The first part of the exhibition would include a 10-piece collection, which is inspired by the Russian Constructivist Era.

The second part of the exhibition, titled look back awayfromthe glare, is an innovative collaboration with visual artis visual artist Mark Lim focusing on the reinterpretation of used clothing by 6 budding designers.

Last not least, the third part of the exhibition would be an invitation only fashion show, titled Stranger Than Fiction, on the last day of the exhibition, which will feature the Autumn/Winter 2009 collection for Woods & Woods. Woods & Woods is a fashion label which is started and managed by Designer Jonathan Seow.
